Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B vaccination (3 doses required)

 £60 per dose

Hepatitis B Immunity Blood Test

£75 (this includes the phlebotomy fee of £40)

For most employees who work in a health or social care sector, this vaccination is essential. We also offer the immunity blood test to check the amount of Hepatitis B antibodies.

Shingles

Shingrix vaccination (2 doses required)

 £227 per dose

Shingles is caused by the dormant chickenpox virus becoming active again. This is usually years after the original chickenpox infection, and the risk increases as we age. The vaccine is used to prevent shingles and the long-lasting nerve pain that follows shingles. Shingrix is the newest vaccine for shingles and provides better immunity than the previously used vaccine.

HPV

HPV vaccination (2 doses required)

£190 per dose

Any young person between the age of 12 and 18 can receive the HPV vaccine free from the NHS. However, for people who are sexually active who missed the HPV vaccine, there is benefit from the vaccination as they may not yet have come into contact with all the HPV strains.

Pneumonia

Pneumonia vaccination

 £60

Pneumococci can cause infections of the lungs (especially pneumonia) and of the coverings over the brain and spinal cord (meningitis) and in the blood (bacteraemia or septicaemia). The vaccine we offer at Dorset Private GP will help protect against 23 pneumococcal types of virus.

Meningitis

Meningitis ACWY Vaccination

 £75

Meningococcal disease is caused by a bacterium. These bacteria can be divided into 13 different groups, of which five (groups A, B, C, W and Y) are responsible for nearly all serious meningococcal infections.

Chickenpox

Chickenpox vaccination (2 doses required)

 £75 per dose

Chickenpox is a common viral infection usually caught in childhood. It’s highly contagious and is spread through coughing, sneezing and direct contact. Symptoms generally get worse with age and often require time off from childcare, school or work. Children from 1 year onwards can have the vaccination.

B12

GP consultation plus B12 injection

 £99

B12 injection only appointment

£50

Vitamin B12 injections are a very effective way of raising blood levels of B12 and reversing a deficiency. If you have not had a B12 injection at Dorset Private GP before, then we request a 20-minute GP consultation first. If you do not have a copy of recent blood test results or medical notes from a previous B12 deficiency diagnosis, then it is likely that the doctor will want to carry out some blood tests and the B12 injection will not be administered in the appointment. If the doctor is happy to proceed with the injection on the day, then this will be administered in the same appointment. After the initial GP consultation, a B12 injection can be administered at set intervals authorised by the doctor.

Hay fever

90% of people should respond well to hay fever treatments such as antihistamine tablets, eye drops and nasal sprays. When medications are not effective, there are alternatives. We have several options for this. Please call or email our admin team to discuss our hay fever options.
